Shark Angels Join the Shark Angels - three fearless and powerful women - as they lead a grassroots campaign - often fighting in the trenches - to save sharks. WildSphere Productions spent a year and a half following the angels on their quest - shooting, editing and promoting the aggressive and controversial effort. Given the conflicts, creative camerawork and hidden cams were often required, as the team shot and produced the entire feature through a journalistic, yet edgy, lens. The effort spanned multiple mediums, including the web, and leveraged the power of social media to promote the project. This short length film serves as a promo reel for docudrama series. All Blue & You Paying tribute to all that is beautiful in the sea and worth fighting for, All Blue and You celebrates the ocean and its magnificent creatures. Composed of footage shot and edited by WildSphere Productions in Southern Africa
Sardine Run This 5 minute preview of the full film drops you into the sardine run with the dolphins and whales taking center stage. the day begins on the shores of the wild coast. moving off shore, we join a group of humpbacks migrating north. the activity heats up as common dolphins trap a shoal of sardines. joined by cape gannets, they launch an all-out assault on the baitball. further offshore, a pods of bottlenose dolphins catch wind of the activity and charge in. will they make it in time for the feast? A pilot film written, filmed and produced by WildSphere Productions.
Planet in Peril - Shark Finning CNN's latest installment of the Planet in Peril focuses on shark finning, and the shark fin trade. There is no animal on earth more vilified than the shark. Pop culture references and annual, over-hyped reports of attacks on swimmers or surfers have put sharks on the top of the list of the world's most feared living things. WildSphere worked closely with CNN to develop the story and also gathered the critical footage, bringing this issue to the masses.
Remove The Nets This conservation film kick-started a movement to remove the shark nets and was inspired by the team in South Africa, having witnessed the issues first hand. The entire effort from initial concepting to final edit to campaign and website launch was completed by WildSphere Productions. A broad effort, the video serves as one pillar in an overarching “Remove the Nets” campaign. Sailfish - House of Sailing Daggers Each year during the winter months, nutrient rich currents flowing north push up onto the shelf of Isla Mujeres, Mexiic, drawing in large shoals of sardines and minnows. Following these baitfish are great numbers of sailfish which, working together, break apart these shoals and create some of the most amazing baitball spectacles on earth. Braving dangerous conditions and open seas, the team became one of the few film crews to shoot this aggregation – creating a documentary short.
